About Ngwenchi

Every student can succeed when learning becomes clear, practical and connected to their future. My role as a teacher is to make that happen. I am a Food Scientist, Nutritionist and Dietitian with an MSc in Food Science, Nutrition & Dietetics and a BSc in Food & Agribusiness. I bring together strong academic training, international experience, practical industry experience, research expertise and hands-on teaching to help students move beyond memorising notes to truly understanding what they learn. I teach Food Science, Nutrition, Biology and Home Economics. As well as important areas of food hygiene, sanitation, safety, handling, storage and processing. Through my experience teaching and mentoring students, including my work as a Volunteer Tutor and Academic Mentor at the University of Buea and practical instruction at Gulu High School, Gulu, Uganda, I understand that students learn differently. That is why my lessons are structured, engaging and easy to follow. First, we build understanding. Then we practise, followed by application. Finally, we prepare to excel. My teaching combines clear explanations with examples, practical activities, guided problem-solving, revision and examination-focused preparation. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically and connect classroom concepts to everyday life and real-world challenges. My research and professional background also bring something extra into the classroom. I have hands-on experience in food formulation, food processing, nutrition, food safety, laboratory analysis, microbiology and research. I have developed nutrient-dense food products, conducted scientific analyses and worked directly with communities and learners. This means I do not simply teach from a textbook, I help students understand why knowledge matters and how to use it. For students preparing for the GCE, I will provide focused guidance to strengthen their understanding of key concepts, improve how they answer questions, develop confidence and prepare strategically for examinations. My goal is not only to help students pass. I want them to understand, apply, communicate and excel. Beyond examinations, I prepare students for the world ahead: higher education, careers, entrepreneurship, independent thinking and lifelong learning. My students will gain knowledge. They will build confidence. They will develop practical skills. And most importantly, they will learn to believe that academic excellence is something they can achieve. I am here to make learning clearer, stronger and more meaningful and to help every student I teach move confidently towards their full potential. I am because, you are.
